A home for a family of three, on two levels on a narrow and long floor plan, with a continuous wall on one side and a series of dividing walls on the other. The initial reaction to the space was to create different areas using the “rhythm” of those side walls, and changing materials and colours without creating proper rooms.
The scale of the projects allowed us to play with many different finishes, from natural timber to painted chevron boards, from natural stone to mosaic, from monochrome to concrete.
The challenge was having all these elements to sit well with the custom-made furniture, the loose furniture and lighting. The final result is a pleasant space to be in, which presents some surprises and still maintains a global identity.
